JOTTA PRIVACY POLICY

JOTTA is an expense tracking and budgeting app by Area13 Studio.
This Privacy Policy explains how JOTTA handles information when you use the app.
1. Data You Enter
JOTTA may store information you enter into the app, including:
- • Expenses
- • Categories
- • Planned expenses
- • Budget amounts
- • Category limits
- • Shared Space information
- • Participant names
- • Split details
- • Settlement information
- • App preferences
- • Language and currency settings
JOTTA does not require you to enter salary or income information. Budget features are optional.
2. Local Storage
JOTTA is designed primarily as a local-first app.
In the current iOS app, expenses, planned expenses, budgets, categories, participant names, splits and settlements are stored locally. JOTTA does not upload these records to an Area13 Studio backend. The app and its widgets share information through a local Apple App Group container.
JOTTA does not require a JOTTA account or sign-in.
3. Purchases and Subscriptions
JOTTA Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
JOTTA does not receive or store your payment card information.
Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription information to validate purchases, restore access and determine whether Pro features are available. RevenueCat also provides purchase analytics. JOTTA does not send your expense or budget records to RevenueCat.
JOTTA does not supply RevenueCat with a name, email address or JOTTA account ID. The RevenueCat SDK creates an anonymous customer identifier and transmits it with purchase-related requests. The installed SDK also sends an Apple vendor-scoped device identifier (IDFV) and technical request information such as device model, operating-system version, app version and locale. An anonymous customer identifier is not the same as an absence of transmitted identifiers.
RevenueCat’s processing is described in its privacy policy. Contact us with questions about purchase-related information; deleting a local expense does not delete Apple or RevenueCat purchase records.
4. Exchange Rates
If you use multi-currency features, JOTTA may request exchange-rate information from an external exchange-rate service.
The current app requests a generic USD-based rate table from Frankfurter. It does not include expense amounts, descriptions, participant names or a JOTTA customer identifier in that request. Network requests necessarily expose connection information to the service. See Frankfurter’s published API privacy information.
5. Analytics and Tracking
JOTTA does not sell your personal information.
JOTTA does not use your expense data for advertising.
The current app does not include an advertising or cross-app tracking integration, or an enabled third-party crash-reporting service. Purchase analytics from RevenueCat are distinct from expense tracking within JOTTA.
6. Shared Spaces
Shared Spaces currently organize shared-expense information within JOTTA.
Shared-expense records and participant names remain local in the current app. Shared Spaces do not currently synchronize records between users or transfer money.
7. Third-Party Services
JOTTA may rely on third-party services required to provide specific functionality, such as:
- • Apple App Store / StoreKit
- • RevenueCat
- • Exchange-rate services
These services may process limited technical or purchase-related information according to their own privacy policies.
8. Data Deletion
Deleting an expense in JOTTA marks the local record as deleted; it is not a promise of immediate permanent erasure from local storage or backups.
Deleting the app from your device may also remove locally stored JOTTA data, subject to Apple device backup behavior.
Support correspondence and this website
If you email area13.ops@gmail.com, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, and use them to respond to your request. Please avoid sending payment credentials or unnecessary personal financial information. JOTTA does not automatically attach your expense database to support messages.
This website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics. Website visits and hosting processing are separate from the iOS app’s local financial records. See the Area13 Studio website Privacy Policy for website-specific information.
9. Children
JOTTA is not specifically designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when JOTTA changes.
